From a sit, left hand with a sloper and right with a sidepull, gain slopers and mantle into the scoop.  Pretty much a sit start to the problem Spread Eagle.

Groovy

On the south face of the lake boulder, start with your left hand on an undercling on/close to the SW arete, and your right on the sloper rail right.  Pull on and move right through the slopes and top out on the SE arete.  Fun and powerful moves, and if you like slopers you will like this.

Climb up west face of Lake Boulder using gastons and reachy side-pulls.

Start with left hand laybacking on corner.  Paste left foot high and gun for good holds.  Top-out is fun.

Stand up slab and find jugs over lip.  Mantle finish.

Fun warm up.  Start with best hold and climb crack to top.

Climb up through featureless face to good break, top out.

Establish on opposing slopers.  Using high feet and balance, work your way to the right crimpy gaston.  Find a good body position and go for the top. Top out.

This is a bear-y good lip traverse on the back side of the boulder below the Lake boulder.  Start with your left hand on a triangular notch, and right hand in an oblong pocket.  Slap and shuffle to the right along the lip until you gain better holds around the corner.  Top out where Short Boulder finishes.

Super subtle problem on the left side of the west face of the lake boulder. Eric sent this on a cool oct. day as high friction is key. Start below big jug on the corner problem and climb face without using corner. A few super balancy moves sets one up for a quick pop to the jug. A testpiece in control.

Using cracks, hike your way up side-pulls and move out to slopey arete to jug.  From there work your way up slopers to top.  Tricky.

Hard wall with no holds, just glassy slopers.  As far as I know nothing has been done on the direct face.

Sit start the mega classic Tall Boy with a crimp for the left and a low undercling for the right.  Some folks feel that starting matched on the left crimp makes it even better.

Start low and work you way up good side-pulls into large slopey pinch.  Hike foot into pocket and go for the lip, great top-out!

On the left side of the east face of the lake boulder is the classic huck of the reserve. climb into two good sidepulls and shoot for a perfect soap dish and top out on the center of the face. EZ and I were repeatidly missing the hold while being heckeled by a buch of drunks and pot heads before it got sent.

Stand start with good hold up left.  Basically campus through slopers to the finish.     Variation- sit start with underclings and small crimp, move up into slopers.- V7

On the east face of the Lake Boulder, start with left hand on small edge and move up to starfish like hold, hike your feet up and throw for the doughy lip up right.  Top out straight up.  Classic!

Start with hands on both sides of pillar. Move your feet up and work your way up the left arete, using good compression and small feet to keep yourself on. Go straight up for the slopey top out, make sure it is clean first. 

  Bonus points for sit start.

Start matched in the constriction of horizontal crack 5' left of Flying Mancuso, make a large left hand move and then go right to the sloper.

Begin with stacked fists. Chicken wing up into a heinous foot jam, flex your knee and reach up for a solid fist. Pull up to an insecure and exposed mantle and roll your way to safety for the top out.

This is the direct line up the arete of the warm up wall. Start sitting with feet together low on the arete and with arms fully outstretched. From a sharp good undercling left and an incut side pull right, make a series of bumps up to a stand.

 From here a fun campus move can be done to reset feet with style. Stay on the arete to top out

The crack on the east face of the lake boulder is one of the last unclimbed obvious lines at the reserve.(Unless its been sent)EZ and I spent a lot of time trying to unlock the cryptic sequence of this problem. It doesn't seem difficult until you trey to send it. Very thought prvoking.

Climb Flying Mancusco but don't use the holds on the left side of the arete. Rowdy eliminate dyno.

Start with good ledge, slap right hand up and undercling with left, fight your way to the top.

A trafficked problem that is well liked. Sit start with underclings.  Grab the small, sharp crimp and climb the blunt arete.

Start on the right arete of Pocket Problem boulder.  Reach the sloping lip and traverse to your left with the slopers on the lip.  Use Pocket Problem's top out.  There are many possible lines on this boulder however, this one is worth posting as the nature of this sloping lip makes for challenging and unique climbing in Wisconsin.

Traverse to the right up to the corner and go up from there.

Climb up features in steep and tall face.  Super fun and a great warm up.

Start low and climb up slopeing arete.  Lake boulder classic.

Climb up corner to nice steps heading left.

Boulder just behind the Lake boulder.  Start low with right hand on small side-pull, left on crimp, work your way left through fun rail.

Start with feet outside the crack and step into a bad knee jam. Wrestle your way up to a good ledge and pull into a good rest. Press up into another knee and mantle out of the widening.

This is one of my favorites.  Climb corner just right of Starfish.  Start with left hand on icey side pull, paste feet and throw for good sloper.  Match hand and heel and yard up to the slopey lip.

Climb direct from middle of face into Stairway half way up.  Poor feet low.

A must try!  Mantle up on short pedestal near entrance to Reserve.  Harder than it looks- Glassy feet!

Warm up slab right of Seams Tight. Good holds on left arete.

Sit start and jam up the crack. Avoid adjacent boulder 

Start with hands matched on a sloper in the middle of the project wall. Do a pull-up. Up gets you 10, down gets you 11.

From good start holds, hike feet and get into thin seam.  Yard you way up on small holds to top.

An obvious, natural sit to Starfish.  Start seated on the left side of the face beneath "Lake Boulder Lunge" with your left hand on an undercling and right hand on a gritty edge.  Climb through the crack up and right into Starfish.  Stick the jump and top out as on that problem.

Instead of climbing the standard route up the west face climb the face to the left using a smeared palm and decent side pull with th eright hand. A tenuous move out left to a camo'd crimp leads to good pulls to the top and a straight mantle finish. One of my favorites at the reserve.

OK, here it is! One of Devils Lake best bouldering areas. This is not the largest area, but the problems here are classic and super fun. Well worth the hike for anyone who wants to get schooled by some of the best Devils Lake has to offer.
