Route believed to have been established by Jeep Gaskin during the prime Big Rock development period. Slab your way up the face past a couple bolts then “squirm” your way through a chimney.

The World on My Shoulders

Start with a dyno to an angled positive jug.  Continue up a power sequence with excellent movement.  True legends will go straight up after the second bolt; mere mortals will move right.  Stick the move or you might take a small swing. Stand up to a rest below the hueco and roof.  Get horizontal and boulder up a tough, partly blind sequence to deep jugs and a hands-free knee bar.  Make the clip and thank the gods for the arete to help you through the laborious final slab moves.  Fun mix of technique on clean jugs and crimps.  Chains are left to allow for safer TR setup in solid rock.It is possible to move right around the arete on easier terrain but mankier rock.  You'll have to stretch to get to the safety (sixth) bolt.  Go this way and you might curse the arete.

Get ready for a wide techy ride.  Drop in on the chimney and choose your method - splits, hand/foot stem, or just face climb.  Clip the first bolt, and try to figure out how to establish yourself on the face without a wipeout.  Use your lobster claw in the only obvious hold to get you there.  Hang 10 left then surf up the enjoyable well-featured scoop with an easy-looking but deceptive move, and then to the anchors.  Fun and funky.

A fun boulder problem located in a left arching crack with a telltale bush in the middle. Establish yourself in the crack (without using the pine tree) with a sort of layback. Make a couple moves to place some small cams using the feet to your left. Finger jam your way up to the hero thin hand jam. Plug some pro and navigate the bush on some thin feet being careful not to dump a bunch of debris onto your belayer. Take advantage of the easing slab to place gear into a small eyebrow. Finish up by slabbing your way up between two cracks to the conveniently located pine tree anchor.

A route that was less than desired. Slab your wall up on some knobs just under the dirt filled crack. Sling one of the small trees until you can get up a little higher to place a hand sized cam.

 Variation 1: sling the cam long and carefully traverse out left on positive feet with no hands to a manky horizontal (15 ft). Then follow easy terrain to the top.

 Variation 2: sling the cam and move up the dirt filled crack, thrashing through the bush, cussing, and wishing you chose the other variation until you top out.

This is a short 40 foot wall with several potential lines in addition to several already established routes. Any time you’ve used the left approach trail, you’ve walked right by this area as it is the chossy cliff on your righthand side just before the "chain gully." The wall shares the area known as the Classic Boulders (which I may add are must do’s and can be found in the recommended guidebook by Brad Caldwell). These climbs are characterized as short, a little dirty, and require a little creativity.

 When climbing in this area please be aware of where you stand and try to practice "Leave No Trace" as much as possible by using already established paths and picking up any trash.
