Really varied climbing, to pumpy finish. Sit start on Over Current. Move up and right to get feet on the small ramp (Awkward!). Traverse right to the next sloping hand ledge. Hand traverse the sloping ledge on bad feet to the crack. Traverse the crack to arete and top out. Interesting problem.

Big easy moves to a scary sloper top out. Sit start on sloping ledge. Climb straight up to a sloper lip on the arete. Don’t bail right!

Stand start on the sloping ledge at head height. Climb the thin crack straight up. 

Would be a great problem until you’re forced to use a scary flake at the crux. Sit start in the small right facing corner on crimps. Climb up and slight right to a sloping ledge. Move left from here, using a scary flake that may or may not explode in your face. Move up to the lip. 

Sit start on the broad arete, left had on a small flake, right on an ok edge. Move up into the crack and move left to the jug. Find some feet and throw up to a good incut rail. Match and resist the urge to keep going left. Get a high right foot and go straight up the face on edges to the lip. 

Continuing on the trail past The Prow, you'll come to a notch with stone steps, as you go through the notch a huge boulder is overhead. A few more steps and you're on the East side of the boulder, which is a large as several SUVs and looks as if it might tip with the least provocation. Boulder #6 is located about 40 ft southwest of "Tipsy" (photo, sketch map).  It is sort of a "double boulder" with another boulder leaning against it. Again I've entered Vo because I have to enter something. Please COMMENT with any info on routes.  

Again...just photo(s),   I MUST put in a rating, so I used Vo. 

Squat start matched on a decent crimpy edge. Pop up and right to a small crimp. Move feet up and shoot for the good hold above the crimp.

Sit start the arete facing the trail. Right hand on a side pull on the right side. Left hand on an undercling. Make a weird pull and climb straight up. 

Sit start the flake and climb to the horn. Needs to see more traffic. Classic!

This begins with the same start as Phase Loss, but instead of moving up the seams it traverses into Marmaduke using the lowest seam and good feet. Small crimps or a big move with get you across and finishing up Marmaduke.

I've put photos of the other sides of The Prow in here. Leave a COMMENT if you know a climb's name or rating. I MUST put in a rating, so I've used Vo. 

Sit start the steep face and arête. Begin with a left hand crimpy side pull and a right side pull and a good semi-circle foot bar. Move up to two crimps and the pop to the arête and move up and top out.

This is far and away the best line at Sundown.  Unfortunately, I was not able to send.  In fact, I'm not sure this line has ever been sent. The landing isn't ideal, its pretty tall, and not exactly clean at the top. A physical and mental test-piece for sure. 

  There's the potential for about 3 lines on this face.  One that goes up the right arete, one that goes up the left, and one that goes from right to left.

Start on a right leaning flake to gain a huge jug half-way up.  Finish to the left and top out.

Same start as “Phase Loss” but goes straight up on slopers and pinches.

Start on good crimps at the bottom left of the boulder.  Work up through small crimps to a good ledge.  Figure out how to work through the upper crack section and top out.

Mountain Project contrbutor "Apelton" writes that he cleaned the climbs on this boulder and always called it " this is my favorite boulder in the area" and has "8 established problems on it". He has added these as individual climbs. THANKS ! 

Boulder #4 Photos - as usual, "Vo" was entered, no idea of routes or grades please COMMENT with any info you have.This boulder is actually two, since it is split down the middle with a huge crack, but you won't see this from the trail unless you circumnavigate the whole boulder. 

Again, Photos ONLY, but I MUST enter a grade so it was "Vo". 

Currently, this sub-area is envisioned as covering the boulders that are after the boulder "Lurp".  There are boulders on both sides, many of which I have no names for, nor do I know whether they have been climbed on.  Then, of course, there is the huge boulder field of the main climbing cliff itself.  At present the boulders in this huge field are NOT included herein.

 Without a doubt, the gem of this sub-section, if not all of Sundown (and maybe even NH???) , is the 25ft-high, overhanging East Face, of "The Prow*" boulder that includes the climbs "Moose Ball Arete*" (So named, but unclimbed, by Jon Guinter; and here I assume it has been climbed) and "Short Circuit". Donovan Spaulding's photograph of the climber on this east face ("Short Circuit", V7) shows this aspect so well that I have placed it first, ahead of the map of the sub-section! 

  In a personal e-mail from Jon I asked him if the Prow was boulder on which the climb "Moose Ball" existed. He felt it probably was. When I got to the formation, there was no doubt in my mind...the magnificent overhanging East face looks just like the prow of a streamlined ship!

 Because of Boulders on both sides, a Left-to-Right (or vice verse) wouldn't make a lot of sense. So I will put in the boulders such that the Left-to-Right sort organizes them as they would be encountered on the hiking path.  

 This is the first area where the boulders have to potential for multiple routes (Especially The "Prow" and what I call "Bou1der 5")
