On the right side of the Spinal Cave, the route left to Loose Stool. Good and steep down below, with an obvious crimpy crux, but otherwise juggy. A slab section in the middle take you to the final short overhang, featuring an exciting mantle to finish. Be careful with the shindagger agave tree on the right!

Slightly overhung ledge climbing leads to a rest on big holds below the short roof.  Just above is the awkward and unpleasant boulder problem that gives the climb it's rating.  Figure out a sequence and try to enjoy yourself.  

Bone dry does not describe many situations you want to find yourself in but this climb is one of them! Follow a gently left trending line of draws that tackles a bone white bulge just left of the Spine Cave proper through a jutting-cobble and a missing-cobble. After the bulge, pull into the scoop to the right to finish at chains shared by 'Way too Dry'.

Like the Shepard's Pie we used to choke-down in grade school, this climb has pretty much everything, aside from mystery meat: crimps, pockets, side-pull, heel hook, knee bar, lumpy-tufa, and the cherry on top: it's over-hanging.

Tired of drum circles, talk of world peace, and hippies rejecting material goods while gladly accepting your tax dollars in unemployment? Take it off your mind by climbing this great new addition to the more moderate routes at The Dry. Varying and challenging climbing takes you through multiple cruxes. Stays in your face to the chains, like a hippie preaching politics.

No need to make the sign of the cross before attempting this route! Evil will not follow you as you tug your way up this classic extension to one of the earliest bolted lines at the The Dry.    Begin on 'Way too Dry'. After clipping an anchor and saying a Hail Mary, follow the blessed few features on the headwall above up and slightly left to the base of a subtle dihedral. Good holds and poor feet bring you to the end of the dihedral where the good lord saw fit to require a big haul to a sloping slot up on the blunt arête above. Our savior rewards those who gain the sloper with a hand or fist jam to clip the last draw and prepare for the final pulls to the top of the wall.

This is a good one with the moves getting gradually more difficult as you go up. You also get to use a very cool "loaf" hold that looks as if it is an embedded river cobble. Another good one to get on before you work in the Spine Cave.*History Bonus: This is thought to be the very first route bolted at The Dry.

This is a good long route with several cruxes. It can get a bit pumpy and tricky, especially at the the top.

Some moderate pulling through tufas and pockets spits contenders onto a great rest at the base of the longest section of steepness in the Spine Cave. The steep hosts two boulder problems separated by a jug but pulling the lip isn't a gimme either. The headwall provides a very solid rest before you pull the last 20 feet of climbing to finish on a small prow above the cave.

I got excited about this one before even leaving the ground. You can tell just by looking that there is a lot of fun tufa tugging on this climb.A few bolts worth of blocky ledge climbing lead to the base of an amazing series of tufa formations. Execute some tricky route reading on thinner flowstone features before being deposited onto giant tufa pods and easier movement for a few bolts. Rest up at the top of the tufa section as the headwall provides strenuous climbing with long pulls on your way to the chains.Despite the wandering nature of the climbing this route is very enjoyable and should see more action.

This is a great warm-up for routes in the spine cave.  Of the three routes to the left of the actual cave this is the easiest and the longest of any of the routes in the Spine Cave. 

     I thought this route had harder moves that Landfill at one section.

Good warmup, I give it a star-and-a-half.

A decent route with mostly straightforward power climbing and a few unique moves. Climb several bolts of 5.10 to a good rest, make a difficult clip, and fire through some rad horizontal pinch moves culminating in a blind move to a sloper or slot. Cross you fingers that this hold doesnt have bat poop on it, fire, get a shake, and do some hard pulls on decent edges to a pumpy chains clip. A fall from the final moves is possible and likely.

One of the best routes of its angle/grade in the Tucson area.  As good as Tsunami and Delirious and that is saying something.  Starts about 40 feet right of the Spine Cave.  It's barely overhanging but offers a lot of variety.

The Spine Cave features a number of long moderates which make for nice warm-ups or introductory projects.  Spinal Twist and to a lesser extent Loose Stools are considered classic 12s.  Harder lines such as Dan's Playhouse and Rocket Man will keep the upper echelon engaged as well.
