This is a great line on the west-facing monolith at the Arena!

This line is fairly easy to spot.  Looking at the west-facing wall (on the left as you come into the Arena), there is a slabby section that rises to a spot where the wall then gets steep.  Just right of this slab is a section of wall that is steep all the way.  Maximus follows this steep portion.  It goes up a section of slightly overhanging red stone that is pretty obvious, about 80 feet long.

Starts fun and leads up to a section with a tough undercling. Work your feet high and match on a high left rail.  Smear on the wall on poor feet and lunge left to a good hold. This section is the crux, probably 11d/12a.

Continue up to the last bolt and a tricky 11c finish.

. Do a balancy move to get up to a 1/2" crimp rail, follow the rail to the right on thin footholds, and then reach around the arete to a good sidepull. Work your feet up, and pop for good holds at the top. Some of the small flakes are less than solid.

Fight to the Finish starts easy and keeps getting harder. Head up to the double dihedral, and use laybacks and stemming to move up. The crux is up at the top and involves some technical high stemming and a long reach to a good pocket in the crack.

The first two thirds of the route is pretty easy climbing up blocky, fairly low angle terrain up to a good ledge and alcove. Move up through the small roof to good crimps on the face above. Clipping the anchors is a bit tricky. Step right for better holds, and reach back left to clip. This route gets a 10d rating in the guidebook, but four of us felt it was a bit easier.

Great moves, beautiful position, stellar views, and warm afternoon sun make this climb worthy of its namesake. A few easy clips up a slab warm you up for the technical stemming crux, just below an obvious horizontal, followed by a steep layback sequence.

Spectator Sport ascends progressively more difficult slab. Stay on the bolt line for hard slab climbing at the top, or bail out left.

and allows one to easily hang the draws and preview.
