Red's Crack

Red's Crack is one of the better moderates in the grouping.  Starts to the right of Birds of a Feather. Rap down to base of wide fist crack at 90' or so.  Bring a couple bigger pieces for the belay. 

  Starts off a little wide, but there are plenty of perfect hand jams in there as well.  A good warm up.

Unknown wide-ish crack left of Canary Crack. Start about the same spot as Tower Station, there is a large bush 15' up. Climb left of the bush (really not too bad) and follow crack as it undulates from hands to fists to off fists and back. About halfway splits right and left. Left looks like it would finish on Tower Station at about the same grade. Right tops out in the same spot as Canary Crack.

Starts up the same crack system as the Chicken Wing off-width by bypassing the bush on the left, going up fifteen feet and bailing out to the left on the easier crack system. Tops out where Tower station tops out.

Canary Crack is a little known, old school classic in the Flagstaff area, named for the bright yellow lichen which covers the pillars. Start by rapping down 100' to a ledge, and build a belay.

 Enjoy crisp jams in the ever widening crack. Hands to off width. A #4 is useful at the top. Enjoy the show!

 My first time on this thing, a long time ago, I didn't have anything bigger than a #3 Camalot. Pumped and tired I opted for the flake on the left hand side at the top of the clean section. I found great climbing, good small/medium gear, and excellent exposure. A worthy variation if you don't fancy the wide stuff.

Birds of a Feather is the next crack system to the right of Canary Crack, and starts on that route.  Rappel down to sloping ledge with crack, 100'. Medium sized pieces for the belay.  

  Work up the crack a bit and move right under small roof to a small ledge.  Climb the right facing corner through the beautiful lichen.  Romp to the top.

This is a grouping of wild and untamed routes first done in the 1970's. When viewed from across canyon, this complex of eye catching splitter crack lines juts out from the surrounding walls. Most of these lines are clean enough, but not all of the obvious lines are listed here.
