Begin beneath the large triangular niche and work up and to the right of it to pick up a small corner to the top. (Variation - harder - go directly up through the large triangular niche).

Begin directly below a small triangular niche (bomber) about 15 ft up.  Crank up to the niche then rightward & up to the top on thin sharp edges.  Variation (5.10a)  same start, but avoid the triangular bomber by moving straight past it on the left.

Up the thin crack and series of small ledges then right along upper flake to top.  The crux involves moves getting to the big diagonal crack that splits most of the face.  Left is the standard warm-up at the crag.

Start on the bump below and a step right of the small triangular pocket about 12 ft up.  Go relatively direct up the face to the right of the triangle pocket.  (Did you really try to use that Triangle?!)

  a sit start on the right, tend left with your feet far underneath the roof, stop at ledges and move up.  

  a hold broke, but still climbable

Begin by the small old tree stump (disappearing with the years) and work straight up to a faint left-diagonal crack then straight up to the top.  The big holds you reach from the ground are about all you get once you step on the rock.

Contrived route between "Left" and "Center".  Holds on "Left" are OFF for right hand and foot while holds on "Center" are OFF for left hand and foot.  If you use a couple of sharp crimpers with the right hand, you are probably ON the route.

Phil's Hill is a small 20-25 ft crag hidden in the forest off the "Railroad Grade" road/trail across from Marquette Mountain Ski Area. The rock provides nice steep crimpy climbing with fun moves.  NOTE - The given ratings are for "on sight" top-rope ascents.  Most of the routes are a bit beta-intensive and feel easier once you are familiar with the routes and holds.  

  Safety - The top sections of the crag can be very loose, so topping out is not recommended. There are no bolts and gear protection is minimal to non-existent for most routes. Top-rope anchors consist of small trees, some are 40 ft or more back from the edge. Use multiple anchors and be kind to the small trees.
