As with most routes on this wall, the crux is the first 6 moves or so. Pull a tough bulge and balance your way to the second bolt. This is followed by easy climbing and a sort of "choose your own adventure," where you can go slightly left or right to different anchors. The technical, vertical section just before the left anchors makes you work for the finish.

From the anchor, climb knobs up and left. Pull the steep head wall on pockets and features. Continue up the face on large cobbles and knobs.

As "Bandwagon" begins left (north) of the cleft between the summits of the Tower of Babel and the Temple of Ishtar, soon to be renamed as the Ten Gallon Hat (in the new Texas Canyon Climbing Guide.) it is listed as part on the former formation.

Pull the overhung face via powerful moves from a large depression or anti-pebble left from a cobble to gain a series of pockets. Above the pockets move left as the angle eases and knobs and more positive pockets lead up the wall to a final bulge and the chains.

Okay...so before you begin your rant about the choss and loose holds know that you voluntarily tied in to climb in the land of choss (LA Basin) and that you could have gone to Joshua Tree, but chose to save gas while trying to maintain a high climb to drive ratio. Could be worse, you could have gone to Eagle Rock or Devil's Punchbowl. Climb sharp pockets and small features to reach the steep face below a slightly overhung bulge. Pull through the bulge on small pockets and cobbles to reach a large white cobble. Surmount the cobble and continue climbing as the angle decreases up a moderate slab with two more bolts and the anchor. The rock and movement are excellent, however the holds are sharp and crunchy.

On the SE side of the dome, climb the narrow buttress to the right of the broad gulley between the Temple of Ishtar and the Tower of Babel. From the base of buttress climb up 20 ft. and right of the huge cobble. Continue up the buttress on fiction, pockets, and cobbles to anchors on the lower SW shoulder of the summit.

Begin climbing on the shallow scoops and inclusions of "Cracker Jacks." After clipping it's second bolt move up and left onto the crest of the buttress. Continue up "Rainy Day Woman" clipping it's fifth bolt.

A bouldery entry move leads to a stance in a large pocket and the base of a broad shallow orange water course. Climb the orange water groove on numerous pockets and knobs to the summit.

Climb the well featured and cobbled east face of Tower of Babel/Ten Gallon Hat. Begin pulling shallow scoops that lead to many positive inclusions and large cobbles. Work up between large inclusions on pockets as the line steepens and leans to the right to the anchors.

Climb the mouth of Corvus crack for a good 50 ft chimney climb then transition to face climbing up the east wall. Many variations are possible. Great for use of chimney technique and stemming between two walls.

P1 - Climb the bolt ladder up the steep overhanging wall to a 20 gallon-sized hueco where it crosses Broadband Connection. Continue up the slab past one more bolt to the anchor. Climb up and right from the anchor to the steep head wall. Pull the overhung head wall on pockets and knobs and continue up and left on large knobs to the anchor.

Trenchtown is more of an area than a route. A wide range of possible top-rope routes from 5.0 to 5.10 are possible.  This is a great place for beginners to top rope or practice a first rappel on slabs.

Broadband Connection" is a link-up of four existing routes and traverses across the breadth of the lower portion of the wall that spans the west face of the Temple of Ishtar and the Tower of Babel, just above the overhung portion of the wall.

Begin at the toe of the buttress, below a loose-looking flake and a maroon colored hanger. Pull up on the flake and into the huecos, clip the bolt and move left, as with the route "Family Affair." Continue left to clip the 2nd bolt on the "Heart Route." Traverse left at the 2nd bolt to "Cross Your Heart." Continue traversing up and left to meet "Texas Two-Step" at its 4th bolt. Traverse around the cobble band on pockets and inclusions, staying just above the overhang that forms the lower portion of the wall. Continue to near the north shoulder of the Tower of Babel and then up to the anchors.

Climb the west wall of Corvus Crack, from midway down the slot, on a variety of edges, pockets, and knobs. Pull the steep bulge at 2/3 height to the upper slab on pockets. Once established on the slab the action doesn't end, but the pockets became spaced and then the holds diminish, until you reach the giant inclusion.

Climb the right side of Trench Town Slab. From the recess next to the bush climb the slab right of the flake on pockets and cobbles. Follow a line of pockets and cobbles up on the right trending line on the slab. The anchors can be reached after executing a high step.

From the saddle pull up into the large hueco and reach right to a small orange inclusion. With feet in the hueco or as high as possible, dyno for a shallow pocket. Match and reach for a higher, more positive pocket. Continue climbing pockets and small knobs to the upper, lower angled slab.

On the right (east) side of the corridor is a low angle slab. Pull inclusions to a line of pockets.

Trenchtown Slab - Center is 40 ft south of Bald Headed Men.

Climb the eastern wall of Corvus Crack from a point midway in the slot. Scramble up on large holds to a bulge in the wide groove. Pull the bulge on edges and knobs. Continue stemming up the steep slab to the anchor.

A bouldery start leads through a large solution pocket and over the bulge using a cluster of inclusions. Above the bulge a crack/groove leads up and right. Where the groove ends move left onto a pebble band which yields many positive knobs and pockets to the top. The opening moves are steep and while the rock appears to consist of burnt sugar and graham crackers it's quite solid.

Begin climbing on the right trending flake at the base of the face. From the top of the flake climb pockets and knobs up the faint rib to the base of a large blocky bulge. Pull over the bulge to nice knobs and the anchor.
