At first, it is easier than it looks, but don't get lulled into a false sense of security.  It gets steeper and thinner as you approach the crux.  **BETA ALERT** The crux is reachy and a hidden hold is key.  Expect to turn purple at the stance below the crux while trying to figure this one out.

So far, this is my favorite route on the wall.  Expect some steep and pumpy jug hauling with a balancey crux.  I'll admit that I was swilling water like a mad man after sending this route...

Warm up on Pump It Until Purple.  It will give you a taste of what to expect on other climbs on the Purple Wall.  It is just a little steep, and a little bit pumpy too.  My arms didn't turn purple when they got pumped, maybe I was doing something wrong...

Best line on the wall.  Purple Pumper will puzzle you in places that will pump you if you're not persistent.  The first 15 feet are rotten but easy, from here on out it is pure pleasure.  There were some reachy moves, a lot of footwork, and even more balancing acts.  Absolutely worth the hike.

Purple Gurpel is almost as fun as Purple Pumper, but it suffers from rotten rock in places, and a weird cave with a bush growing out of it.  There is a fantastic-looking flake that was pretty loose.  I wonder how long it will last.  Purple Gurpel is a nice climb that will please those who make the hike.

Climb an easy face to an overhanging section that sports a thin crack at its base.  **BETA ALERT** Blast up the overhang on some thin and balancey holds to a jug, then make a wild traverse to a rail and get your feet up before you blow it.  Didn't bring any booze to celebrate my lackluster climbing, so I had to settle for blowing bubbles with my spit, how gross...

Avoid the temptation to start off of the large boulder in the dry streambed.  The start from the ground is fun and bouldery.  Expect some jugs on a slightly overhanging face with a more technically demanding crux.  I didn't let any of my wine drip while climbing or belaying...
