This climb is on you the moment you step off the ground. You will encounter bouldery moves and technical thought provoking problem solving. I watched several good climbers work this out, and everyone seems to have different cruxes regardless of height and geometry. Once you gain the lip at the top, enjoy easier climbing up the arête to the chains.

Rigor Mortis

This is Rifle, right?  A brilliant face/slab climb, possibly the best stone I've seen in Rifle. Rigor Mortis, paradoxically the antithesis to this canyon,  is a superb climb despite being a tragically short lived puzzle.

Tackle a blocky start, trending slightly left up into jugs, and finish on a techy slab on decent holds.

You've probably been there, a dinner date that turns weird when things are said that give you pause. "Did they just say that?" You go into the evening looking forward to time spent with others but are quickly looking for that out. "So, we really need to pick up some milk for the kids." Perhaps that's how many in the country feel with our current leadership.

It may be how you feel when climbing this route as moderate climbing takes you past the first four bolts, and then suddenly every hold is facing the wrong way and the only hold that looks like a jug from below is deceptively slippery and insecure.

The Other Side is hard off the ground like its neighbor. It's cruxy at the start, easier but sustained in the middle, has a trad-like  dihedral, and an upper techy redpoint crux. It has fun moves on it.
